Security information

For a secure version of this section, go to https://edit.mp3lyrics.org. You will have to accept the website certificate to use the secure connection! You will be using the same page you see now, but the information between you and edit.mp3lyrics.org will be encrypted and thus unviewable to others. The reason you have to manually accept the certificate is because we didn't use a trusted third party to sign the encryption key you'll be using. We signed the encryption key ourselves. There is one main difference between an encryption key signed by us, and one signed by a trusted third party. When we sign it, your browser doesn't recognize edit.mp3lyrics.org as an authority to certify encryption keys. Your browser therefore chooses to notify you about this matter for deciding how to proceed. You can read more about website certificates, secure connections, and trusted third party key signing at wikipedia's page on certificate authority (CA) or thawte's (a trusted third party / key signer) page on facts about SSL. You can read more about how we treat information received of you in our privacy policy.

If this got all too complicated or simply extraneous to you, just use the regular address http://edit.mp3lyrics.org (your connection will not be encrypted).

The reason we made the secure version of this section is because some people feel uncomfortable sending their email address and a chosen secret password over the internet in plain text.

The reason we have a duplicate of the secure section on an unencrypted address is because some people find this whole "acceptance of a secure website certificate" business a bit odd. They therefore prefer the regular version of this section.

For security reasons we don't save your password in plain text. We save an encrypted version of it. This means that we are unable to see or use your password. But this also means we are unable to send you your password if you forget it. However, we can make you a new password, and send it to you.
